Solving youth unemployment for emerging markets.

Our MISSION

Ukwanda Projects NPC is a public benefit organization (PBO) specifically focused on youth aged fourteen to forty. Ukwanda’s primary objective is to vet and source products and services from third parties that empower the youth with work readiness and gear them towards career success.

Everyone deserves equal opportunity to thrive, and this starts from early life in developing the right foundations from which to grow. Ukwanda has identified two critical gaps in the education system that needs to be addressed;

1) Math Literacy 2) Career Guidance & Support.

Poor Math literacy is a major inhibitor for our youth. Having good math skills is a prerequisite for the majority of work and Ukwanda is dedicated to lifting the Math standard across South Africa.

80% of our youth do not have access to any kind of formal career guidance or support. This is a huge problem when the majority of the youth coming through the education system are first generation children, who cannot rely on their parents for advice. Ukwanda believes having self knowledge and career support is a human right, especially in today's hyper-competitive, fast changing workforce.

AWEZA

Aweza provides language support in the form of on-demand bilingual concept explanations and terminology quizzes to assist in the mastery of academic language required to understand and work through the knowledge in a certain domain.

FAST MATHS

Every FastMaths course contains a terminology mastery module which focuses on ensuring understanding around key language contained in the topic covered by the module. Before starting a course, learners have the opportunity to brush up and revise on their knowledge of academic vocabulary.

The Incline Fast Academy is a maths and coding academy designed for students who failed matric maths. Their journey takes them through this learnership programme as interns while broadening their possibilities of entering the job market afterwards.

Yenza is the first truly personalised career guidance, development and placement platform for the youth. We have developed 'Smart Career Technology' which adapts, responds and recommends pathway progression to individuals based on scientific methods of career and personal development.
